I think (not certain) that entrepreneurs are not sitting on their hands, just more of them are choosing to create in or at least incorporate in the US. Hard to see the numbers but the talk at builder events says they are still building but don't think Canada is the place to do it.
Recent newspaper articles do speak of recent immigrants to Canada picking up stakes and moving to USA. For statistical backup, I guess we can track migration to USA to delve deeper into your point.
It’s more nuanced than that though. Canadians can stay in Canada, incorporate, and raise in the US or some other permutation of that. It’s hard to know what is really going on in detail. But the lack of company creation will have long term consequences no matter how you look at it.
