Canadian business leaders are worried about the bottom line. They have zero interest in much else. Currying favour with protestors hoping that the same protestors will leave some corporation alone is a vain hope. The political leaders in our country are spineless. The courts continue to issue judgements undermining the rule of law. It is going to get worse before it gets better. Mark Carney is a rock of jello. He'll fold like a cheap card table before getting tough with any group that promotes anti-semitism, or any other anti-western/anti-capitalism belief. Mark my words.
It was great to see many of Canada's business leaders put their names to the open letter. However, I sometimes wonder if there were any leaders who opted to take a pass.
I think it's a sad statement when people are afraid to open up about how they feel about discrimination of any kind for fear of cancelation or retribution. It's also pretty telling when leaders of all stripes have to wait and feel the prevailing wind before opining on anything at all.
